Podcast #1: I’m Unemployed, an Interview with Colorado Rockies Stephen Head

Here’s the REAL first podcast on This One’s For Nick. I recorded this one two weeks ago. In this episode, I talked to Colorado Rockies pitcher Stephen Head. Head was signally drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 2nd round of the 2005 draft as a first basemen. He had success as a hitter until reaching the higher ranks, where he struggled. Head decided to take a different approach to the game, this time on the rubber. After a brief stint in Tri-City, the left-handed Head is now pitching for the Ashville Tourists as a reliever. Acting as the big brother for prospects like Corey Dickerson, Tyler Matzek, and Peter Tago; Head and I talked about his conversion to pitcher, how his time at Ole Miss helped him, and if he ever thought about calling it quits.

Music is by The Dangerous Summer, off their latest album, War Paint.

Podcast #2 – An Interview with Reds Prospect Billy Hamilton

Here’s the first podcast on This One’s For Nick. There is another one I will be posting shortly. In this episode, I talk to Cincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Billy Hamilton. Ranked 50th on the Baseball America Top 100 Prospects list, Billy talks about his first half struggles, his speed, and why Reds fans shouldn’t write him off. Music for this podcast is brought to you by Toro y Moi, “Still Sound” off their latest album, Underneath the Pine.
